Evelyn Ryan, age 86, of Decorah, IA, died on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, IA.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 307 West Main St., Decorah, IA, with Rev. Phillip Gibbs presiding.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m., at the church on Wednesday morning. The Schluter – Balik Funeral Home of Decorah is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn (Balik) Ryan is survived by her ten children: Ruth Kamp, Decorah, IA; Theresa (Rick) Smith, Waukon, IA; Ethel (Donald) Sylling, Spring Grove, MN; Tim (Sharon) Ryan, Lime Springs, IA; Leone (Tom) Ferrie, Cresco, IA; Phyllis (Robert) Maroushek, Decorah, IA; Lois Ryan, Decorah, IA; Frank Ryan, Harmony, MN; Robert Ryan, Cresco, IA; and Anita Ryan, Decorah, IA, along with fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Two brothers-in-law: John Kout and Donald DeCou. Two sisters-in-law: Jane Headington and Doris Balik.
